An open perspective
An independent perspective.
The Innovation Guy is an independent publication founded by Mohamed Rahmo, a communication strategist whose work has moved between the creative industries, product thinking, nonprofit initiatives and public affairs. The common thread is bringing people and ideas into conversation.
Its subjects are deliberately broad: tech, social change, policy, environment, economy, health and education. Its point of view is consistent: look beyond the individual idea to the people, relationships and conditions that make it matter.
Mohamed is Senior Communication Advisor and Public Affairs Officer at the NATO Climate Change and Security Centre of Excellence in Montréal. Earlier work spans Women in Governance, education, product marketing, digital experiences and communication for nonprofit organisations and causes. Software engineer Hamza Aid, who works on cloud governance in Barcelona, writes about technology and how it is adopted.
Those experiences inform the questions explored here. The journal is independent of the authors’ employers and of the institutions with which they have worked; views expressed are personal.
The madNess spirit.
Mohamed founded madNess, an NGO in Morocco. During COVID-19 he helped organise people and materials to produce protective face shields for doctors and donate them to hospitals around the country.
That work belongs here as a story of collective action: people seeing a need, combining their resources and working towards a practical response. It is one expression of a much wider interest in how useful change happens.
